Empathy is a meaningful application to life that enhances relationships, collaborations and communication by allowing people, including yourself; to be seen, heard, and understood. It is one of the five key components of emotional intelligence and is one of the most fundamental. It is an essential skill in healthy inter-relational team building that fosters inclusion and equity, particularly in diverse environments.

Learning to activate this powerful resource allows us to communicate openly, honestly, and authentically with one another. Empathic communication supports creative thinking, provides opportunities to learn from non-dominant voices, and results in a happier, more productive workforce.

So, what is empathy and why is it so important? Empathy is the awareness of other people’s emotions and the ability to understand alternative perspectives and experiences, even if they differ from one’s own. This information is then put into action to help make people feel better and work more cooperatively and collaboratively through various challenges.

Empathy building presentations and workshops are co-presented with Sheri Fogarty and Neil Donaldson who bring over 40 years of combined experience fueled by purpose and passion in the field of empathy, inclusion, mindfulness, and harmonious team building.
